God With Us!
The scriptures say that Christ is “Emmanuel God With Us.” We are reminded of this during the joyous holiday season. But God promises to be with all year, not just at Christmas time. When you are conscious of God’s presence every day, you will experience a peace that gives you peace and joy that lasts all year long.
God has promised to be with us always. God wants us to know that we are never alone, that should both encourage our hearts and inspire us to good works. God is not just the God of the sweet bye and bye ,but the God of the here and now. Are you conscious of God’s presence every day?
Start by seeing God with you in whatever you do and wherever you are. For example, at your board meeting, while deliberating on issues, see the Lord there in the boardroom with you, guiding you in your thinking. And you can be sure that His presence will bring clarity of thought and wisdom to you.
If you are going for an interview, see the Lord there in the interview room with you, putting answers in your mouth. Your nervousness will melt away as you imagine God smiling on you.
Perhaps you are going for surgery. See the Lord in the operating room with you, guiding the hands of the surgeons. Your worries will dissipate when you remember the Lord’s presence.
If you are in the middle of an argument, see the Lord standing within earshot. Your words will change and your body language will become more reconciliatory as you see Him right there with you extending His grace to you. There will be a restraint which is not borne of willpower, but which comes supernaturally when you know that the One who loves you and watches over you is with you.
When we recognize that God is with us we will see that God is not only in us but in others as well. Remembering God’s presence will help us to treat our neighbors right.
When we recognize that God is with us our worries and fears will have to take a back seat. We can let God take the wheel and let peace reign in our hearts.
We have promised our community and friends that they can come meet God ( and friends) here, not in heaven but on earth, right here and right now on at 474 Wantagh Avenue. Now that we have met God and we know that God is here, let’s take God with us out into the world! When we do that we can expect good things to happen in us, our church and our community. I’m expecting great things even a miracle.
Happy New Year,
Yours in Christ Service,
