Harvest Gathering in Sayville

IMG_0314November 16, 2013 was a lovely fall day, perfect for a ride in the country.  Actually, it was a ride to a Harvest Gathering in Sayville at Linda Brookshire’s home.  Fourteen of us shared stories and considered ideas for the future of our church.  We reviewed past Mission Statements and found common themes from the 1950’s-“Together we strive to show God’s love through service to our community and our world.” To the 1990’s-“We find strength in our diversity.  This Church has a mission to speak to our members, communities and the world.” These statements still hold true today in our new millennium and highly technological world.

We laughed together and prayed together, sharing food and fellowship.
